📢 Important Announcement from the MNA❗️
Dear MNA Community,
After thoughtful consideration, the Missouri Nutrition Alliance Board of Directors has voted to formally close the organization and begin the process of winding down operations.
This decision comes with many emotions, but most of all, with tremendous gratitude for what we have accomplished together and for the people who have supported the MNA mission over the years.
The Missouri Nutrition Alliance was created to build awareness of qualified nutrition professionals, strengthen connections within our profession, and advocate for greater access to nutrition services throughout Missouri. We are proud of the meaningful progress that was made toward that mission.
One of MNA's most significant accomplishments came in 2021, when the Missouri Dietetics Practice Act was successfully amended following three years of legislative advocacy. This was an important milestone for nutrition professionals in our state and the result of countless hours of education, advocacy, relationship-building, and collaboration. We are deeply grateful to everyone who lent their voice, expertise, time, and support to that effort.
Beyond our legislative work, MNA created opportunities for nutrition and wellness professionals to connect with one another, develop professionally, and build relationships with healthcare providers, businesses, organizations, and community partners throughout Missouri. We are especially proud of the connections that were formed and strengthened through this organization. Those relationships will continue long after MNA closes its doors.
We also want to offer a very special and heartfelt thank you to Jessica Idleman, MNA's founder and former Executive Director. Jessica had the vision and courage to bring this mission to life in Missouri. Her passion, leadership, and tireless advocacy created the foundation upon which MNA was built and made a lasting impact on the nutrition profession in our state. We are deeply grateful for all that she poured into this organization and the legacy she leaves behind.
To our members, partners, board members, volunteers, advocates, sponsors, speakers, and friends, thank you. Whether you were with us from the beginning or joined us somewhere along the way, you contributed to this work. Your belief in the mission, your willingness to collaborate, and your support made our accomplishments possible.
As we complete the process of closing the organization, the MNA website will remain accessible for the next month. We encourage you to visit the site during this time if there is information, resources, or member contact information you would like to retrieve for future reference.
Although the Missouri Nutrition Alliance as an organization is coming to an end, we hope the spirit behind its mission continues through each of you. The relationships that have been built, the doors that have been opened, and the commitment to improving the health of Missourians remain an important part of MNA's legacy.
If you have any questions regarding the closure, please feel free to reply directly to this email.
It has been an honor to serve this community. On behalf of the MNA Board of Directors, thank you for being part of this journey and for helping us make a meaningful difference in Missouri.
With sincere gratitude,
Brigitte Factor
Board President
